The password for an HDFC Bank account statement PDF is your Customer ID (CustID). HDFC Bank says so in its NetBanking FAQ, and its app guide adds that the Customer ID is your numeric NetBanking user ID.
What is the HDFC Bank statement password?
For a savings or current account statement downloaded from NetBanking or the HDFC Bank App, the password is your Customer ID. HDFC shows this note on the statement download page when you choose PDF, and again in the success message after the download.
HDFC mentions the password only for the PDF format. NetBanking also offers Excel, Text, Delimited and MSMoney downloads.
Where to find your Customer ID
Your Customer ID is the numeric user ID you use to log in to HDFC Bank NetBanking.
How to download your HDFC Bank statement
- NetBanking: click Get Statement on the home screen, or go to Accounts → Account Statement.
- Select the account and the period.
- Choose Download (PDF, Excel, Text, Delimited or MSMoney) or Email (PDF only).
- HDFC Bank App: tap Statement → Get Statement, choose a period or a custom date range, and tap Download. For more than 5 years of history, use the Email statement option.
- Monthly email statements: NetBanking → Accounts → Manage e-Statement → Enable e-Statements.
If the password doesn’t work
- Type the Customer ID exactly, as numbers with no spaces.
- Check that it’s an account statement. HDFC credit card statements use a different password; check the card statement email.
- For an emailed statement, read the note in the email itself.
- Still stuck? Download the statement again from NetBanking, or contact HDFC Bank.
Already have Excel from NetBanking?
If you can log in to NetBanking, HDFC’s own Excel download may be all you need. A converter helps when:
- you only have the PDF (for example, a client sent it);
- you need a Tally Prime import file;
- you want every row checked against the running balance.
